Neil and his new band begin a six-night stand at Doug Weston’s Troubadour, in Los Angeles, California, met with rave reviews by the Los Angeles Times. Neil appears on “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour,” performing a medley of hits. Guests also include Cher, who performed Neil’s “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show.” Also appearing is actor Bob Newhart.
November 30, 1969
Neil makes his only appearance ever on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” performing “Sweet Caroline” and “Holly Holy.”
1970-1971
Neil replaces his band: Dennis St. John on drums, Emory Gordy, Jr., bass guitarist, Alan Lindgren, keyboard player, and Richard Bennett, guitarist.
