ABOUT IAISND.COM
- This page explains a little about our history--where we've been--why we're here--why we decided to build a website for the Neil Diamond community on the Internet.
BIOGRAPHY
- The Biography page contains information about events in Neil's life and career.
- The biography is organized by decade that can be easily accessed by links.
- The biography is a fully searchable database of information. For example, if you want to know when Neil and Barbra Streisand sang together at the Grammy Awards, simply type "BARBRA" into the search box, and you will be shown every entry in the biography with the word "BARBRA" in it.
- Click on any photo in the biography to see the full-sized picture.
CONCERTS
- The Concerts/Reviews page is organized by decade.
- Each concert date is an underlined link. Click on that link to see fans' reviews of that particular show.
- As a registered member of IAIS, you may add your own review of any concert, to be retained as a permanent record on IAIS. If you have reviews of concerts from other tours, please feel free to add them to the concerts page. If Neil played multiple nights in a venue, and your review is pertinent to only one of those nights, please specify the particular performance that you are reviewing. The reviews posted on the concerts pages will be our permanent record of Neil Diamond performances, past and present.
DISCOGRAPHY
- The discography page is organized by decade, with International and Single releases listed separately.
- Click on the Album you would like to know more about, and you will find information about that recording, along with a form to rate and/or review the recording.
- Note also the Search feature on the Discography page. Enter the Song Title you'd like to find the album for, and you will find every album with that song on it.
FAN POETRY
- This is a page where registered members can enter their original poetry and share it with other IAIS readers.
LATEST NEWS
- The latest Diamond headlines as well as announcements regarding Neil's public appearances will be posted here as soon as they are known. New features to this website may also occasionally appear in the Latest News section.
LINKS
- Links to other sites in the Neil Diamond community you might like to visit are listed here.
LYRICS
- A fully searchable lyrics page allows you to find that elusive song title when all you have is a word, line, or phrase to a song.
- Type the word or phrase in the search box, and you will be shown the title of every song that contains your search criteria.
- Click on the song title link to view the entire song lyric.
MESSAGE BOARD
Please follow the "no rules, just common sense" philosophy that has been part of IAISND.com since its inception, exercising respect and kindness when posting messages on the message board.
- You can save the direct link to the message board (http://iaisnd.com/board.cfm) in your favorites if you prefer to bypass the front page and go directly to the message board when you visit IAIS. Keep in mind, however, that the latest news and other features on the site will be updated regularly as we strive to keep the site fresh. To return to the front page, click on either the Home link or the Banner at the top of each page.
- The message board has two views (classic and modern). The classic view is the default and is similar to the old IAIS Network54 message board with threads appearing in the reverse order in which they were posted (most recent on top). The modern view bounces the thread with the most recent post to the top. You may switch back and forth from one view to the other as you so desire.
- If you don't like your e-mail adderss showing on your posted messages, simply delete your address from the E-Mail field before you click POST MESSAGE button.
- Images may be added to any message (you may use photos from your IAIS photo gallery---or other places on the web, if remote displaying is allowed) by simply pasting the url of the image in the message box. HTML coding is not required.
Follow the steps below. (These instructions assume the image is housed on the web.)- Locate the image on the web.
- Hover your mouse over the image and right click.
- Highlight and select PROPERTIES.
- Find the URL address (this begins with http://).
- Highlight the URL address.
- Right click the mouse while hovering it over the highlighted URL address.
- Highlight and click COPY.
- Go to the message form on IAIS.
- Place your cursor in the Message form.
- Right click the mouse.
- Highlight and click PASTE. (This places the image in your message.)
- Click the PREVIEW button at the bottom of the message form to test and ensure your image is correctly posted. Once the message is like you want it, click the POST MESSAGE button.

- Searching for archived messages is easy. Just click on the search link at the top of the message board, and enter the word or phrase you wish to find. Then choose where you want to search and the time period you wish to search (optional):
- Message (message text)
- Subject (subject of a message)
- Posted By (author of a message)
- All Fields (all the above)
- Optional Start Date (start date parameter)
- Optional End Date (stop date parameter)
- The message board is archived by thread date. You can search the message board's archived pages by choosing the date of the page you wish to see. Each archived page contains each thread that was begun on that particular day. When you search the dated archived pages, you can move forward or back one page at a time by pressing the Next Page or the Previous Page button.
- When posting a message with no text added inside, the net preference is to include '(nt)' (no text) or '(nm)' (no message) in the subject line of the message you are posting.
- Messages of a personal nature are more likely to be received by the person for whom they are intended if they are sent to that person via personal email, if possible. Many times, messages roll by so fast that the person for whom the message is intended will never see the message.
any message posted on the Message Board
at any time and at its sole discretion.

- Simply answer the questions, and then see how you rate with others who have also taken the challenge.
- We welcome any suggestions you may have for Neil Challenge questions. We will change the Neil Challenge questions at least monthly.
PHOTO GALLERY
- As a registered member of IAIS, you will have access to your own personal storage space on the web. This space may be used to store photos for you to share with other IAIS readers.
- We ask that you limit the number of uploaded photos to fifty. Please keep in mind that photos should be appropriate for, and of interest to, IAIS visitors.
- From time to time, we may find that certain photos should be removed, and we reserve the right to do so without notice to the member into whose gallery they were uploaded. We also reserve the right to restrict any photo of an inappropriate nature!
- Photos for uploading should be scanned at or sized to 72/75 dpi. If you wish to upload printed matter (such as a review or feature), 150 dpi is a good resolution for reading.
- BE SURE THERE ARE NO SPACES IN THE FILE NAMES. If you want to use a space, use an underscore ( _ ) instead. For example, make sure the file is named as neilandme.jpg, not as neil and me.jpg.
- The copyright for each photo belongs to its owner.
- To upload photos:
- Make sure you are logged in.
- Click on the Photo Gallery link on the blue bar on the left
- Click on link to "Upload Photos."
- Click on "Browse" which will open an Explorer window for your own computer.

- Make sure the photo you want to upload is highlighted and click on "Open."
- Type in a description of the photo (if desired).
- Click on the "upload" button.
- That's all that's necessary for the photo to appear in YOUR gallery.
- To post your photo in a message on the message board:
- Make sure you are logged in.
- Click on the Photo Gallery link (on the blue bar on the left).
- Click on the link to YOUR photo gallery (the names are in alphabetical order by username).
- Locate the thumbnail of the photo you want to post and click on it. (This opens your photo to full size.)
- Right click on the actual photo and select "Properties" from the drop down menu.
- Select the "Address (URL)" line with your mouse so that it is highlighted.
- With the address line highlighted, right click and select "Copy."

- Paste the address that you just copied anywhere in the message or in one of the image boxes beneath it. No further html is necessary.
REGISTER NOW
- Registration IS NOT REQUIRED! However, there are several advantages to registering that may interest you. You will have the ability to:
- Upload photos to share with other IAIS readers
- Edit your own information in our new Traders Corner, which includes a Ticket Exchange
- Receive e-mail News Bulletins from IAIS
- As a registered member, you may periodically receive general updates from IAIS (pertaining to the website and its features), as well as news bulletins, at the email address you register.
- Establish a unique identity in the IAIS community
- Assign yourself a personalized image (avatar) that will appear each time you post a review with your IAIS name
- When you register, you do not have to provide your REAL NAME unless you so choose. While we have a really neat dynamic search feature in the Who's Who that helps you to find registered fans in your area (among other neat things), you can register and feel totally secure about remaining anonymous by not providing your personal information, if that's what you prefer.
- An example of this would be one of our regular posters, "DiamondGirl." If she prefers that her real name remain anonymous, DiamondGirl can register and use "Diamond" for her first name and "Girl" for her last name, and her REAL NAME will never be registered. Yet, she'll be able to upload photos to share with other fans and participate in the other registration required activities.
- If you select for your registration information to be viewable in Who's Who, be sure to fill in ONLY the information that you wish to be shared with other registered fans (only fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required):
- *Name
- *User Name (screen name)
- *E-Mail address
- Address (provide as much detail as you wish to share...maybe just city and state)
- Phone Number
- Birthday
- About Me (whatever you want to share with the registered IAIS readers about yourself)
- Image/Photo
- You can set up an Internet address on hotmail.com or yahoo.com, or any other free Internet service, if you prefer not to use your regular email address.
- When you're logged in, your "User Name" and E-Mail are automatically placed in the Name and E-Mail boxes of the Message forms, eliminating the need to enter that information manually.
- User Names are unique. If someone registers your first choice of names before you do, you will be required to make another choice.
- You must use a legitimate email address for your registration, so that you can receive official mail from IAIS. If we discover that an e-mail address is not legitimate, we will delete the registration.
REVIEWS
- The Concerts/Reviews page is organized by decade.
- Each concert date is an underlined link. Click on that link to see fans' reviews of that particular show.
- As a registered member of IAIS, you may add your own review of any concert, to be retained as a permanent record on IAIS. We have transferred many of the reviews that readers have posted on the "Who's Going Where" pages on the old Disc Server message boards.
