Two music greats play Metro Radio Arena

NOT only is singer-songwriter Neil Diamond’s 38-year music career still ongoing but he has managed to do it with his dignity intact — Mick Jagger and Rod Stewart take note.

He has had nearly 60 hit singles, beginning with the adolescent rush of Cherry Cherry in 1966. Songs such as Sunday Sun, Sweet Caroline, Song Sung Blue and Forever in Blue Jeans are some of the most recognisable of the 20th century, as is the song he wrote for The Monkees, I’m A Believer.

He cemented his position in American music in 1980 when he starred in and composed and performed the music for the remake of The Jazz Singer.

Expect the great man to play (some of) his most memorable hits as well as recent material when he plays Newcastle?s Metro Radio Arena on Tuesday May 24.

As if that wasn?t enough the man still known around the world as ?Little? Jimmy Osmond returns to Britain next year with a national tour that takes in the Arena on Friday September 30.

Tickets for Neil Diamond cost £37-£50. Tickets for Donny Osmond cost £27.50-£29.50. Visit www.ticketmaster.co.uk or call 870 707 8000.
