Delta Goodrem Back At Number One
Delta Goodrem has returned to the top spot on the Australian chart knocking Guy Sebastian down to number three spot after just a four week run.
Delta’s ‘Innocent Eyes’ album, now in it’s 42nd week on the ARIA chart has now spent a grand total of 28 weeks at number one.
Her success this week was unbeatable in all states, with ‘Innocent Eyes’ registering at the top in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. (ARIA includes Tasmanian figures in Victorian sales, ACT in NSW sales and Northern Territory sales in with South Australia).
As well as topping the album chart, her single ‘Predictable’ is also number one in South Australia, while ‘Shut Up’ by Black Eyed Peas is number one nationally and tops the state chart for New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya’ is the number one song in Western Australia.
Delta’s next goal must be to be number one for at least two more weeks. When she reaches 29 weeks she will tie with Neil Diamond’s ‘Hot August Night’ as the second longest number one charting album ever in Australia.
Dire Straits ‘Brothers In Arms’ holds the record with 35 weeks at number one.
