Diamond, a composer as well as a singer, hit the big time first writing songs for popular performers. His own hits include, “Solitary Man,” “You Got To Me” and “Cherry Cherry.” His singles, “Sweet Caroline” and “Holly Holy” were Gold Record winners.

He won “Record World’s” Most Promising Vocalist Award in 1967, and the same year tied Frank Sinatra for Cashbox magazine’s Top Male Vocalist honors.

Diamond’s backup in the Amarillo show will be a rock trio: bassist Randy Sterling, guitarist Carol Hunter, and drummer Eddie Rubin.

Tickets priced from $3 to $5.50 are available at the Civic Center box office.
